Prevailing Wage Training for Contractors

Department of Labor and Industries is offering several online training opportunities for contractors to learn about Prevailing Wage on Public Works. Once per month from February to July, each session takes place online on a Thursday, from 9 a.m. – noon.

Here is the schedule:

  • Thursday, Feb. 19
  • Thursday, March 19
  • Thursday, April 16
  • Thursday, May 21
  • Thursday, June 18
  • Thursday, July 23

Once there, enter “prevailing wage on public works” in the search box, located above the calendar. Then scroll down and click on Sign Up for the session you want to attend.

Please note: This workshop satisfies the training requirement for responsible bidders.

Presented by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), each session covers what you as a contractor need to know when working on a public works project.

  • Intent and Affidavit paperwork
  • Certified payroll records
  • Scope of work descriptions
  • Retainage
  • Contract bond, contract release
