During the meetings, members emphasized the importance of keeping previously funded transportation projects moving forward without delay. They highlighted the critical need to prioritize maintenance and preservation funding, including securing adequate resources for paving during the 2026 construction season. Ensuring continuity in project delivery, they noted, protects taxpayer investments, supports local jobs, and provides certainty for contractors and communities alike.
Members also encouraged lawmakers to establish a stable and sustainable long-term transportation funding plan. Predictability in funding is essential for contractors to plan, invest in workforce development, and deliver projects efficiently across the state.
In addition to transportation funding, AGC representatives discussed the impacts of project labor agreements (PLAs), particularly on small and diverse contractors.
