General-Contractor Membership

General-contractor members are licensed general contractors who submit bids directly to owners.

GC members must be in business for two years prior to application, except where one or more of the principals have had two years of previous experience in managerial responsibilities or ownership in member firms.

AGC General Contractor Membership

Annual dues for GCs are based on the previous year’s volume and are the sum of chapter dues and national dues from the table below. If your company is a member of another AGC chapter, please see below for dues information for Non-Home General Contractor members.

EXAMPLE  If your firm’s annual volume within AGC of Washington jurisdiction is $3.8M, your annual Chapter dues would be $4,410. If your firm’s national gross construction volume (including Washington State) is $5.6M, your annual AGCA dues would be $1,060. Total combined annual AGCWA and AGC National dues, then, are $5,470.

General Contractors who are already members of another AGC Chapter will be automatically assigned a Non-Home General Contractor membership. This type of membership saves the contractor money by paying volume-based dues only on the work they are doing within AGC of Washington’s jurisdiction.

Introductory-contractor members are general contractors who have not been members of the AGC of Washington chapter for the last three years and are not currently members of any other AGC chapter. Introductory-contractor designation is granted one time for twelve consecutive months for a dues payment of $1,700, regardless of volume (dues are pro-rated after January 31). At the end of twelve months, membership is automatically converted to general-contractor status unless the company is an active participant in the AGC Group Retro workers’ compensation program.
