This month, we'll hear from two experts on creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace in our unique construction industry. Today, companies who are embracing a Culture of CARE by raising awareness and building skills that support workplace diversity, equity and inclusion are not only building reliable reputations but also excelling at worker retention, innovation and profitability. - Keonna Jackson: Leadership for Workforce Diversity
What do supervisory and leadership skills look like when grounded in anti-bias principles, and with an eye on equity? Keonna Jackson will help us think about how ways our leadership style can help us develop and create multicultural workplaces. She'll address why diversity important for our industry, and how can we examine our beliefs, and practices to create an inclusive environment for our entire workforce.
- Sakara Remmu: RISE Up Diversity & Inclusion Training for Construction Employers
To attract and retain a diverse workforce, employers are challenged to create working environments that are safe, supportive and productive for all employees. Sakara Remmu will be talking about RISE Up -- a customizable, industry-specific resource for contractors providing the tools and support necessary for all workers, including managers, superintendents and forepersons, to create and maintain a safe, inclusive and productive jobsite environment.
NOTE: Pre-registration is required, as event seating is limited. Anyone not registered by 12:00 noon on Monday April 22 may not have a seat.
