AGCW leaders visit Washington DC

AGC of Washington leadership recently attended AGC of America’s National Chapter Leadership Conference and met with Washington’s Congressional Delegation while in Washington DC. At their congressional meetings, AGC leaders urged our delegation to make additional investments in workforce education by increasing funding for the CTE programs via the Perkins Act, described the impacts on the construction industry if the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is not made permanent by 2026, urged them to make reforms to the Federal DBE program to allow DBEs to grow and help them succeed, and discussed impacts that government-mandated PLAs have on disadvantaged businesses.
Attendees to the congressional visits were chapter President Phil Wallace, Kiewit Infrastructure West; First Vice President Bryan Kelley, Howard S. Wright; Second Vice President Jeff Tiegs, Lincoln Construction; Executive Vice President David D’Hondt; Chief Lobbyist Jerry Vanderwood and Lobbyist Michele Willms.
