What can 30-plus volunteers skilled labor and materials donated from a number of companies accomplish in a single day?
Remove three 40-cubic-yard dumpsters of debris and trash clean up and weed planting areas tear down and build a new storage shed bump out a wall for a new laundry room paint the inside and outside of the house refurbish the electrical and plumbing systems replace windows and interior doors insulate selected areas install new garage doors and much more.
On April 28 Vulcan and AGC rehabilitated and repaired the White Center home of a 26 year-old single mother of two who also cares caring for her 15 year-old brother and 17 year-old sister. The project was one of 25 undertaken that day by Rebuilding Together Seattle a charitable group that repairs and or rebuilds homes at no cost to low-income homeowners particularly those who are elderly disabled or families with children with the help of volunteer companies.
It was a much appreciated effort and AGC thanks all the individuals and companies that made the project a huge success. Participating AGC firms were:
