About Safety Team
Overview

The AGC Safety Team® is a voluntary statewide program recognized by the Department of Labor & Industries. This program was developed and implemented in 1990 by members of the AGC Safety Steering Committee.

As a member of the Safety Team®, your company will have met or exceeded the established construction safety standards. Qualified members are given a plaque for display at their place of business. In addition, AGC Safety Team stickers are available for use on company vehicles, hard-hats, and jobsite signs.

It is the goal of this program to establish a safe work environment, as well as one in which employees are aware of their safety responsibilities, and ensure that safety plans are effectively implemented. This is a voluntary safety management program in which members actively participate in the yearly safety program and jobsite audits.

New Process
  1. All Safety Team® members that have been qualified for five or more years will have jobsite safety audits every other year (see inspection chart). This process recognizes the efforts of our companies that continually make efforts to go above and beyond regulations when it comes to safety.
  2. The system will include a 12-month qualification period, in which benefits of membership start on the date you qualify and are good for 12 months from that date. Your company’s renewal date for 2007 will be determined by when you were qualified in 2006. For example: if you qualified in February 2006 then your renewal will be in February 2007`. This allows Safety Team members to enjoy the benefits of membership for 12 full months. Two months prior to your expiration, a notice will be sent to you indicating it is time for renewal.
  3. All Safety Team members that have been qualified for 10 or more consecutive years will have their Safety Team stickers and Safety Team plaque reflect 10 plus years of safety excellence. After all, 10 years of achievement in Safety Team is a big deal!
